LEAWOOD, KAN, May 4, 2011 — Mayer Hoffman McCann P.C. (MHM) has developed a new program that will educate clients on complex accounting subject matters and current events. The MHM Executive Education Series™ is a webinar-based training that will be presented monthly May through October. Each course will run approximately two hours and Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credit will be offered.
“Over the past few years there have been an increasing number of accounting standard changes and growing complexity within business financial matters. This has led to a knowledge gap that needs to be filled. Business executives have enough challenges to run a successful business in today’s economy, let alone keep up with all of these complex matters. It is our job as their trusted advisor to provide this type of education,” states James Comito, member of the firm’s Professional Standards Group and a presenter for this program.
“Our goal with this program is to provide both clients and personnel with valuable education on specific accounting complexities and current events that are shaping or impacting the profession,” states Andy Burczyk, member of the firm’s Executive Committee. “MHM has had a successful, internally developed training program in place for the past 5 years for all levels of personnel within the organization, but this new program is designed to take training to a higher level yet as it focuses in on these very complex or challenging topics.”
The topics for the 2011 MHM Executive Education Series™ include Consolidations & Variable Interest Entities, Business Combinations, Leases, and Revenue Recognition. Additionally there will be two courses that provide updates on current and emerging accounting topics that are or will impact the Architecture / Engineering / Construction (AEC) Industry and Not-for-Profit Industry.
