We’re excited to announce that Mayer Hoffman McCann P.C. (MHM) has formed an IFRS Solutions Group to assist clients either in the transitions from U.S. GAAP to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) or serve in an advisory role providing guidance on complex IFRS matters.
As a part of this effort, we’re putting close to 25 professionals through the AICPA’s IFRS Certificate Program, of which nearly 20 have completed.
“With the number of professionals MHM has trained in IFRS matters — along with the formation of this group — MHM is clearly demonstrating our desire and ability to work in the IFRS space at a commitment level not found with other firms. While many firms are taking a wait and see approach to IFRS, MHM’s leadership realizes that IFRS is, and will continue to be, part of the accounting lexicon of the future,” stated Keith Peterka, head of our IFRS Solutions Group.
Keith also serves on the IFRS Small and Medium-sized Entities Implementation Group, an advisory body to the IASB to support the international adoption of IFRS and monitor its implementation.
The MHM IFRS Solutions Group is spread throughout the country in most major markets and gateway cities and the professionals include:
- Atlanta: Jonathan Hinds
- Boston: Mike Godlewski
- Irvine: Weng Yee Chung
- Kansas City: Mark Winiarski
- Los Angeles: Kimberly Sugiyama and Kelly O’Neill
- Memphis: Mike Broy and Greg Ritter
- Minneapolis: Brian Barsi
- New York: Heather Hamilton and Fasika Sahlu
- Philadelphia: Mike Fazzini, David LaRosa and Keith Peterka
- Phoenix: Brian Deak
- San Diego: Mike Lichtenberger, Shannon O’Brien and Nathan Story
- Tampa Bay: Dave Enick
The most recent addition to the group is Marco Pulido who was recently hired to the firm’s Los Angeles office. Pulido has more than 13 years financial reporting and auditing experience. He most recently served as an IFRS leader with Deloitte, providing IFRS conversion and advisory services in Colombia and other emerging markets in Central and South America.
“Mayer Hoffman McCann is always keeping an eye towards the future of our profession and making the necessary investments to take care of our clients. In this competitive global economy, IFRS is an area clients are requiring support and that will continue to see increased demand in the future,” stated Bill Hancock, President of MHM.
